Business Intelligence Specialist |
A Daugherty Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for analysis and solution design. He or she will be a team leader within Business Intelligence projects and coach less senior BI team members in processes, techniques and problem solving methods. Candidates will have completed several BI projects and had exposure to CASE tools (ERwin, ORACLE Designer 2000, ER/Studio, etc.).
Necessary skills include:
- Strong SQL skills
- Strong data analysis and architect skills:
- Working in a Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse environment
- Translating business needs into long-term information architecture solution.
- Participating in developing data warehouse blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms.
- Understanding of data modeling (Normalization, Star Schema, “The Vault”)
- Understanding of data architecture (Data Warehousing, ODS, Data Marts, Staging)
Concentration (one or more of the following)
- Expertise in a (or multiple) integration tools (DTS, SSIS, Informatica, Data Stage, etc.)
- Expertise in a (or multiple) OLAP tools (Analysis Services, Cognos, BO, etc.)
- Expertise in a (or multiple) Reporting tools (Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, ProClarity, etc.)
- Conduct data quality initiative to rid system of old, unused, or duplicate data (profiling, auditing, cleansing)
- Business Process Expertise (CRM, SC, BPM, Finance, etc.)
- Thought-leader in leading Business Intelligence technologies (vendor)
Education Requirement: 4-year college degree, preferably in Computer Science or Business-related studies.
Experience Requirement: 7+ years related experience in Business Intelligence.
