Application Architect

Daugherty Application Architects are responsible for solution analysis, design and delivery and are top-level technical experts in one or more integration competencies of application programming. Application Architects provide technical direction as to the general structure, flow of control and strategy for positioning logic between software modules and are responsible for software analysis, design and construction testing and integration. He or she must have proven team leadership experience and ability to mentor Architects, technical team leads and software engineers in application architectural issues, business issues, and best practices.

Other necessary requirements include:

  • Single platform experience with deep knowledge and skills
  • Hands-on Design and Development experience in COM, .Net or J2EE
  • Multiple Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools experience, including Microsoft, IBM, BEA, Borland, etc.
  • Application domain knowledge with functional understanding or experience
  • Able to define the business domain and issues related to the Architectural assignment
  • Primary DB Platform Experience
  • OOA&D Skills
  • Class Modeling Skills
  • Requirements Decomposition to Design Model
  • Design Model Translation to Implementation Model
  • Architecture Best Practices knowledge
  • Architecture Best Practices Development
  • Pattern Selection, Design & Proper Application
  • Design and Development of Enterprise Reusable Frameworks and Components
Education Requirement: 4-year college degree, preferably in Computer Science or Business-related studies.

Experience Requirement: 8+ years experience in software engineering.
