Daugherty Technical Architects are responsible for solution analysis, design and delivery and are technical experts addressing problems of execution architecture, development architecture and operation architecture integration. They provide technical leadership for client and technical teams and have the ability to mentor Application Architects, technical team leads and software engineers in technical architectural issues and best practices.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Develop strategy for system architecture and the design of infrastructure necessary to support strategy.
- Advise on the selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data accesses and application development.
- Specify, evaluate and select hardware, operating system, software and computer networks associated with systems architecture.
- Install, configure and administer, hardware, operating system, software and computer networks associated with system architecture.
- Identify and report technical risks throughout life of the project and provide mitigation strategy for those risks.
- Set standards for relational database structure.
- Advise on feasibility of potential future projects to management.
- Ability to define the business domain and issues related to the Architectural assignment.
Experienced in the following:
- Application Architecture experience
- Hands-on Design and Development experience;
- Design of Enterprise Reusable Frameworks and Components
- COM, .Net or J2EE
- Multiple Platforms, Databases and System Architectures,
- Network, Security, Operations, etc.
- Cross Platform Communications and Integration
- EAI (MQ Series, SeeBeyond, Vitria, etc.)
- Interoperability
- SAP, Web Services, etc.
- OO Concepts and Applications
- Architecture Best Practices Development, IT Guiding Principles knowledge
Education Requirement: 4-year college degree, preferably in Computer Science or Business-related studies.
Experience Requirement: 8+ years experience in software engineering, 6+ years in application architecture.
